Coffin Bay Oyster Walk Trail Head Signage

Trails

In 2020 Tredwell completed a Regional Trails Strategy for the Eyre Peninsula. As part of this Strategy the Oyster Walk was audited and groundtruthed and identified as having unique selling points, regional stories and “must-do” experiences for tourists that will potentially lengthen stays, attract visitors and business to the region. A key outcome of the inspection/audit is to develop a clear signage strategy for the Oyster Walk.

Tredwell produced a signage suite unique to Coffin Bay, which included the graphic design and detailed drawings of a trail head sign, interpretive signage, and waymarking signage. All signage was designed to reflect and withstand the tough coastal environmental conditions of Coffin Bay and has utilised unique design elements to represent the oyster farming present in the area.

The signage suite utilised relevant ‘Brand Guidelines’ to develop the concepts to ensure the signs effectively represent the required branding requirements of the region and are compliant with the requirements of AS 2156.1 Walking Tracks Classification and Signage.

The signage concepts have been installed by Haynes Signage promoting the Oyster Walk through vibrant and unmistakeable design that captures the public’s attention, promotes the uniqueness of the trail whilst also providing safety, trail, and other relevant information important to the user.
