The Toowoomba Region Trails Network Strategy delivers a clear and comprehensive plan for the establishment of an integrated network of trails that promotes the use and values of quality and connected infrastructure. With the objective of providing a framework for the future strategic direction of trails across the Toowoomba region, the project involved:
- Identification of walking, horse riding and mountain biking trails in the Toowoomba region
- Extensive consultation with the community and other relevant stakeholder groups
- A comprehensive trails audit and associated mapping
- Classification and grading of trails in line with national and international standards
- Identification of recreational trails gaps and infrastructure requirements
- A comprehensive and detailed recommended strategic action plan for implementation of the Trails Network Strategy
