Tablelands Regional Cycling Strategy
Current
The Tablelands Region Cycling Strategy (2024- 2034) has been developed to enhance participation in recreational cycling and active transport, aiming to deliver health, well-being, economic, tourism, and social benefits for the Tablelands community.
It has been developed with a strategic and regional approach to guide new infrastructure development and renewals, ensuring coordinated project execution, improved management and promotion, and maximised funding opportunities.
The Tablelands region offers opportunities to accommodate a diverse range of cycling disciplines and skill levels, enhancing its appeal to a broad spectrum of cyclists.
The Tablelands region offers incredible potential to provide an iconic, cohesive, and interconnected cycling network that provides benefits across the triple bottom line, with positive environmental, economic, and social outcomes. By focusing on development in key areas and for all forms of cycling, the Tablelands region can encourage additional bike tourism.
A detailed Action Plan has been developed to prioritise actions toward the achievement of the Tablelands Region Cycling Strategy Vision over the next 10 years.
Through strategic efforts and targeted investments, the Tablelands Region Cycling Strategy aims to transform the area into a premier cycling destination, attracting cyclists both nationally and internationally, and significantly contributing to the region’s economic growth and overall prosperity.
