City of Adelaide Needs Analysis for Indoor and Outdoor Sports Courts

Feasibility & Needs Assessment

The City of Adelaide required the preparation of a needs analysis for both indoor and outdoor sports court facilities within the City of Adelaide.

The purpose of the project was to ascertain the current and expected future demand for indoor and outdoor sport courts within the City of Adelaide with regards to population growth forecasts, current use, recreation trends and Council’s strategic objectives to encourage healthy lifestyles and activate the Park Lands.

An evidence-based needs analysis was completed to determine the optimal number and type of indoor and outdoor sport courts and associated infrastructure to accommodate current and future demand for the next ten to fifteen years within the City of Adelaide.

Recommendations for investigation, partnership opportunities, improvements and design considerations were provided to the City of Adelaide to improve the provision and management of sports courts going forward.
