A collaborative approach across eight local governments resulting in the identification of each Councils sporting and recreation strengths, along with identified opportunities for future regional facility and service enhancement.
Phase 1 – provided baseline analysis including a background review, facility and event audit, best practice review and Council area overviews.
Phase 2 – provides future direction, planning principles and strategic recommendations on regional sport and recreation facility and event provision over the long term. It also clarifies Local Government’s role in delivering the strategy.
A regional framework was established including a vision statement and strategic action plan which prioritised the development of regional level facilities and events across the Murraylands and Riverland regions.
