Tredwell is proud to have contributed to the development of the Indigo Shire Epic Trail, which officially opened on March 15, 2023. Since its launch, the trail has surpassed expectations, demonstrating impressive usage while delivering significant benefits to the local community. As part of our commitment to community-driven projects, we conducted a thorough analysis of the trail’s operating model, identifying best practices and governance strategies. These enhancements will ensure the trail’s long-term success, elevating the rider experience and strengthening its positive impact on the community. Future developments include amenities like bike-washing stations, accommodation links, and additional user services, all designed to support the growing popularity of the trail.

Australia’s only All-Season Epic Trail, this 56-km, world-class trail runs from Beechworth to Yackandandah, winding through eucalyptus forests, vineyards, and old gold mining towns. It is designed in the shape of a figure-eight loop, riders can tackle the entire trail or choose shorter sections for a personalised adventure. The trail starts at the old Beechworth Gaol which is an iconic landmark that sets the tone. The Gaol offers a café where, before you set off on your ride, you can grab a coffee or a bite to eat. Neil, on his recent visit, described it as the perfect combination of Caffeine and electric power – ideal for energising for the ride ahead.
